Lead Pastors

David and Jeni Gerlach are the founding pastors of EVC. They are originally from the Northwest, but moved to Eugene in 2012 after 13 years in Tennessee. They first joined the Vineyard family at the Vineyard Chattanooga. After serving that community and one of its daughter churches, they felt called to return to Oregon and plant a Vineyard church in Eugene. ​

Along with serving at EVC, they are also involved in the neighborhood public schools (Jeni as a classroom teacher and David subs a few days a week as a teacher's aide in the district). They have 5 grown kids and 3 grandchildren. Much of their time is spent connecting with their family, which often involves singing and playing instruments together. Both David and Jeni love being outdoors gardening, going on walks together, or taking long motorcycle rides through the beautiful Oregon countryside.
